Super Sentence Structures

This unit will provide students with a range of opportunities to focus on enhancing their writing at the sentence level. Explicit teaching around a range of engaging sentence structures, will prepare students to wow their readers in both fiction and nonfiction writing pieces. This unit includes some fantastic mentor texts which highlight to students the effectiveness of varying sentence structures. Some of these sentence structure ideas are inspired by the work of Alan Peat. While these lessons have been designed to be taught in a sequence, they can also be delivered as stand alone sessions.
